Cenderawasih National Park & Whale Sharks
The waters of Cenderawasih National Park are among the most spectacular and protected marine environments in Indonesia. The park is famous for its resident whale sharks, which can be observed under strict regulations designed to ensure their protection and well-being. Every encounter is conducted responsibly, respecting both the animals and their natural habitat.
WORLD CLASS FISHING
Fishing is also part of our experience, but always with a strong conservation ethic. Most of our sport fishing is catch-and-release, allowing guests to enjoy the excitement while preserving fish populations. When we keep fish for our meals, we do so only near local villages, following the same traditional fishing grounds used by Papuan fishermen. Using sustainable bottom-fishing techniques, we select only a few of the finest reef species, which are prepared fresh alongside locally sourced lobsters.
PRISTINE CORAL REEFS
The snorkeling in Cenderawasih is simply extraordinary. The reefs are pristine, vibrant, and remarkably untouched, offering some of the healthiest coral ecosystems in the region. Beautiful reefs can be explored directly from the bungalows where we stay, and we also visit the stunning Auri Conservation Island, a secluded paradise with crystal-clear waters and exceptional marine life.
OUR BOATS & CREW
We use lightweight fiberglass boats powered by twin 40 HP or twin 15 HP engines. Fast, fuel-efficient, and always equipped with two engines for extra safety, they are perfect for coastal cruising, snorkeling, and fishing. Their speed allows us to cover long distances quickly while following the shoreline.
All boats are well maintained and equipped with life jackets, first-aid kits, communication equipment, and all essential safety gear.
Our captains are experienced local fishermen from Asandami and Yokangal villages, next to our bungalows. They know the area better than anyone and regularly fish for tuna far offshore, making coastal trips safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for all guests.
