OVER 15 YEARS OF EXPLORING PAPUA
Since 2014, our expeditions and discoveries have been featured in fishing and adventure magazines, documenting years of exploration across some of the most remote regions of Papua.
Long before creating Roon Island Expeditions, we travelled extensively throughout the island, exploring rivers, mountains, coastlines and indigenous territories from Jayapura to Sorong, Raja Ampat, Fakfak, Kaimana, Timika, Asmat, Merauke and the border regions of Papua New Guinea.
What began as a passion for remote fishing expeditions gradually evolved into a deeper connection with Papua's wildlife, landscapes and cultures. Over the years, these journeys allowed us to build lasting relationships with local communities and gain a unique understanding of a region few outsiders ever experience.
Today, Roon Island Expeditions is built upon decades of exploration, local knowledge and genuine friendships across Papua.
